Mission and Vision
Toby Center Mission
The Toby Center was founded in 2008 to improve child outcomes when parents separate. This is
accomplished by providing affordable child reunification services as supervised visitation, neutral child exchange and parenting education for children in temporary foster care (25%) and those subject to child custody awards in family court (75%).
The important goals for the Toby Center is to assure that these court ordered services are afforded to all residents of metropolitan areas regardless of ability to pay for these services which remain uncovered by insurance.
The natural or biological family has been devastated by the nature of parent separations and divorce, affecting 40% of public school children. Some 20% of children are being raised by their grandparents in this region. Such children who have been blocked from access to an ‘absent’ or non-residential parent are prone to alcohol, drug abuse, juvenile crime and suicide. More than 1/3 of children from single parent households do not graduate high school.
As most metropolitan areas are impacted by teen aggression as school bullying, abhorrent behaviors as drug, alcohol abuse, and cutting, gang membership and youth crime, the Toby Center strives to provide the important options for parents to remain involved in their children’s lives and thus preserve potential for much improved child outcomes when parents separate.
Our Vision for the Future
The Toby Center seeks to bring our mission nationally through regional Centers, affiliates and partnerships.
As the Toby Center has entered its 15th Anniversary year, we find that the demand for supervised visitation services and child reunification has expanded. There is also demand for consistency in policy, in recruiting and training as well as service delivery.
In the next ten years, The Toby Center is prepared to further its expansion through the recruitment of experienced family professionals; partnerships with existing agencies; and franchise arrangements for Toby Center intellectual property, training and service consulting with like-minded service businesses.
The Toby Center model has proven its ability to be replicated anywhere, with consistency, uniformity, and respect. Our brand is protected by those representing the agency in the field and at the speaker’s podium. The Toby Center name is appreciated and respected by those who would refer the services and who would request professional guidance and expert testimony. Current management brings more than ten years of expertise in this important field, to “preserve family ties when parents choose to separate”.
